Managing a test internet banner campaign

= Flexible support for a start up e-Commerce Consultancy
= Comprehensive planning supported by extensive research
= Negotiation and booking of space with key websites

Flexible Support
The Virtual Marketing Company worked remotely with a start up e-Commerce Consultancy to plan, test and implement an internet banner campaign for an established IT training company. The objective of the campaign was to increase the number of click-throughs to the training company's website and increase the take up of courses. The consultant provided additional resource to the client and enabled them to undertake a project that would otherwise have not been possible with the existing structure. After the preliminary briefing session all activity was handled remotely ensuring the low overheads essential for the start up phase of a business.

Planning, Research and Recommendations
The Virtual Marketing Company carried out extensive research into the websites most likely to be visited by the target audience - HR, Personnel and IT managers. The consultant looked at the client to draw up a target list of websites and compile comprehensive information on the number of unique visitors, average users profile and anticipated click-through rate. In addition, the consultant provided objective support to help develop the strongest creative executions for three tests.

Negotiation
After approval by the client the Virtual Marketing Company negotiated with website owners to obtain optimum media rates for the test campaign. All bookings were made on behalf of the client and the website advertising departments were supplied with full briefing documentation together with the creative executions for the banners. After an initial test period of 5 weeks, the training company went on to run a roll-out campaign, based on the recommendations of the Virtual Marketing Company and on the evaluation process that had been established as part of the campaign plan.
